With Tissue Support and Flex Barrier, Medical Instinct offers two products for accelerated regeneration of soft and hard tissue which have been developed and approved specifically for intraoral use. Hyaluronic acid activates inhibitors which effectively counteract tissue degradation. A similar effect is achieved by inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Tissue Support, consisting of uncured hyaluronic acid, was designed specifically for the treatment of soft tissue inflammation and for improved wound healing after surgical procedures (Guided Tissue Regeneration) with simultaneous reduction of scarring.

By contrast, Flex Barrier was developed specifically for use in the field of hard tissue regeneration and papilla formation, and it consists of uncured and crosslinked hyaluronic acid. The gel can be mixed with artificial bone materials. Thus it can be applied easily and remains stably in position. The barrier effect isolates smaller operating areas efficiently. The bio-membrane produced suppresses bacterial migration and prevents dislocation of the granules during remodelling.
